Every day more than 100 women in Britain are diagnosed with breast cancer ^†, almost three quarters are under 70 years of age. And beating the disease can be a struggle that takes its toll physically, emotionally and financially (Fighting Cancer Article).

According to Macmillan Cancer Support, one in four cancer patients admit having difficulty keeping up with their payments. A spokesman for Macmillan Cancer Support said 'Our work with cancer patients shows that many of them suffer real financial hardship at a time when they need to be able to concentrate on getting better' (www.macmillan.org.uk).
